Experience
I earned my undergraduate Spanish, Latin American studies, and anthropology degrees in Missouri State University. I then went on to Tulane University, where I earned my graduate degree in Latin American studies. I spent four years living in Guatemala, and I am very proficient in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish. I've also had the opportunity to work with people from a lot of different cultural backgrounds as a cultural anthropologist. I love the Spanish language and Latin American culture, and I'm always excited to help new students learn these subjects. I can explain concepts in a number of different ways, trying different things to see what works for each individual student. I customize my lesson plans and use different activities and resources to keep students engaged. In addition to helping students understand the Spanish language and learn about Latin American culture, I can also help students with subjects like anthropology, world civilizations, writing, essays. I have strong writing skills, and I'm very organized. I also have patience, which I believe is crucial for an effective tutor. When I have spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
